Shaykhuna Abdu Shukoor Bakhavi Mankadavu The Radiant Light of the Shadhuli Path (Tariqah)

Shaykhuna Abdu Shukoor Bakhavi was born in 1362 AH (1943 AD) at Kannadiparamba as the son of the esteemed scholar and Sufi master of the Shadhuli path, Tajuddin Abdurrahman Musliyar. His mother was Maryam Hajjumma. Even during his youth, the Shaykh immersed himself in the depths of Islamic knowledge. In addition to his father, he studied under notable and insightful scholars such as Mankadavu Husain Musliyar, Koyyod Moideen Kutty Musliyar, and Shaykh Hasan Hazrath. He later earned the Bakhavi degree (MFB – 1967) from the renowned Vellore Baqiyat-us-Salihat institution. He taught in various places including Aluva, Vadakara, and Thodupuzha, leading a life illuminated with spiritual depth and knowledge. Eventually, he served as a Mudarris (senior teacher) at the Kambasar Masjid in Kannur until his death. He was the khalifa (spiritual successor) of his father in the Shadhuli Sufi order and was always engaged in spreading the teachings and legacy of the Shadhuli path far and wide. Besides his father, he also received the Khilafah from Dr. Muhammad Fasi, the son of his father’s Shaykh, Ibrahim al-Fasi, and also from Shamsuddin Fasi, the son of Ibrahim al-Fasi’s brother, Abdullah Fasi. Marked by humility and simplicity, the noble Shaykh had numerous murids (disciples) and students. He played a central role in propagating key branches of the Shadhuli order such as Shadhuli Fasi and Shadhuli Baqari. He established ties with many great spiritual figures, particularly during Hajj and other spiritual gatherings, always striving to spread the Shadhuli path to all people and places — a dream dear to his heart.
